This is a good satisfying dish. My kids always liked it. You can make it ahead and place in the refrigerator to put in the oven when you get home from work.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb
    ground beef (i think you could use pork or turkey if you prefer.)
  • 1/2 medium
    onion, chopped
  • 1/2 medium
    green pepper, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • ·
    salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 bag(s)
    frozen mixed vegetables or your choice
  • 1 lb
    frozen french fries
  • 1 can(s)
    cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 can(s)
    water
  • 4 oz
    velveeta or american cheese

How to Make French Fry Casserole

Step-by-Step

  1. Brown ground meat in a large frying pan. Drain off any grease if needed.
  2. Add onions and pepper to meat and continue cooking until translucent. Salt and pepper to taste and add worcestershire sauce.
  3. Place cooked meat in a large greased casserole.
  4. Top with vegetables and then french fries.
  5. Mix soup and water. Stir until smooth. Add cheese and cook on stove top or microwave until cheese is melted and sauce is smooth.
  6. Pour sauce over casserole. Do not stir.
  7. Bake casserole, covered, in a 400 degree oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat and bake another 20 minutes.
  8. Remove cover and bake another 10 minutes or so until browned and bubbly.
