This is not my recipe, I found it on Food.com and it was posted by Big Cheese in 2004. It is very good and easy!

prep time 10 Min
cook time 7 Hr
method Slow Cooker Crock Pot
yield 12 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 - 4 pounds boneless chuck roast
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 - beef buillon cube
  • 1 - bay leaf
  • 3-4 - peppercorns
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 12 - french rolls, split

How To Make french dip roast beef for the crock pot

  • Step 1
Place roast in a 5-quart slow cooker
  • Step 2
Combine soy sauce and next 6 ingredients
  • Step 3
Pour the soy sauce mixture over roast ***** I mixed it all together in my measuring cup then poured it over the roast*****
  • Step 4
Add water to slow cooker until roast is almost covered
  • Step 5
Cook, covered, on LOW for 7 hours or until very tender
  • Step 6
Remove roast, reserving broth. You can shred roast or cut it into slices. Serve on the French rolls with broth on side for dipping.
  • Step 7
COOKS NOTE: I actually added cheese to these, I used sliced smoked Provolone, and stuck them under the broiler until the cheese was bubbly. You can use any kind of cheese you want or no cheese at all.
