Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

The original recipe for this chili came from and was posted by Deb. This chili received over 2000 reviews with a five star rating. I have tweaked it to fit my family's taste. It is an excellent chili and both easy and fast to make.

2 lb
ground chuck
1 large
onion, diced
1/2 tsp
black pepper
1/2 tsp
garlic powder
2 1/2 c
tomato sauce
1 8 oz. jar(s)
4 Tbsp
williams chili seasoning, original
1 15 oz. can(s)
pinto beans, do not drain
1 15 oz. can(s)
red beans, do not drain
1 15 oz. can(s)
light red kidney beans, do not drain


1In a dutch oven over medium heat, combine the ground beef and the onion and saute until meat is browned and onion is tender. Drain grease, if desired.
2Add the ground black pepper, garlic powder ,tomato sauce, salsa, chili seasoning mix and beans. Mix well, reduce heat to low and simmer for at least an hour.
3*The salsa heat is up to you...mild, medium or hot.
