The original recipe for this chili came from allrecipes.com and was posted by Deb. This chili received over 2000 reviews with a five star rating. I have tweaked it to fit my family's taste. It is an excellent chili and both easy and fast to make.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground chuck
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 1/2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 8 oz. jars salsa*
  • 4 tablespoons williams chili seasoning, original
  • 1 15 oz. cans pinto beans, do not drain
  • 1 15 oz. cans red beans, do not drain
  • 1 15 oz. cans light red kidney beans, do not drain

How To Make debdoozie's blue ribbon chili

  • Step 1
    In a dutch oven over medium heat, combine the ground beef and the onion and saute until meat is browned and onion is tender. Drain grease, if desired.
  • Step 2
    Add the ground black pepper, garlic powder ,tomato sauce, salsa, chili seasoning mix and beans. Mix well, reduce heat to low and simmer for at least an hour.
  • Step 3
    *The salsa heat is up to you...mild, medium or hot.
