country style steak
This steak recipe is very similar tasting to the country style steak at K&W Cafeteria style restaurants. I use Uncle Ben's boil in bag rice with this as it tastes almost the same as K&W, but mine may be a little better, if I do say so myself! ;)

Ingredients
- 1 pound cube steaks
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup vegetable or canola oil
- 2 cans (14.5 oz.) beef broth
How To Make country style steak

Step 1Combine flour, salt, pepper and garlic powder in a shallow dish.

Step 2dredge cube steak in flour mixture, coating evenly. reserve 1/4 cup leftover flour.

Step 3brown cube steaks in hot oil over medium high heat about 4 minutes on each side. Remove steaks to a 9x13 baking dish.

Step 4add reserved flour mixture to pan drippings to make a flour paste. Add more oil or flour if necessary. Pour broth into pan and stir until smooth and thickened. Pour gravy over meat.

Step 5Cover pan with foil and bake in a 350 degree oven for 2 hours. Serve with hot cooked rice or mashed potatoes.
