fresh zcchini or frozen

onions, chopped

chopped garlic

salt

basil
1/2 tsp
oregano, dried
1/4 Tbsp
pepper

cooked rice

8 0z. tomato sauce
1 c
cottage cheese
1 large
egg beaten
1 c
grated cheddar cheese

How to Make Caserole Italiano

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cook zucchini in boiling salted water for 2 to 3 minutes then drain well.
  • 2Saute ground beef, onions garlic and seasoning until onions are transparent. Stir in rice and tomato sauce.
  • 3Arrange half of the zucchini sliced in a buttered casserole: spoon on meat sauce, top with remaining zucchini and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  • 4Bake at 350 degrees
