Got this out of the newspaper years ago. It has been a family favorite for more years than I can count. Hope you enjoy them and let me know what you think.

Slow Cooker Crock Pot

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb
    bacon
  • 1 lb
    ground beef 90% at least
  • 2 can(s)
    pork and beans
  • 2 can(s)
    ranch style
  • 2 can(s)
    butter beans (drained)
  • 2 can(s)
    blackeyed peas
  • 1
    large chopped onion
  • 4
    peppers, i use 2 jalapenos.1 habanero, and ! sirrano. it is your choice depending on how spicy you want it)
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 1/2 c
    your favorite bar-b-q sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    dry mustard
  • 1 Tbsp
    apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp
    salt

How to Make Calico Beans

Step-by-Step

  1. Brown the bacon, ground beef, onions and peppers.
  2. Put the mixture in a crockpot. drain all the beans except the pork and beans and black eyed peas and put in the crockpot.
  3. Stir well to mix. Cook on LOW for 4-5 hours. Serve with a sald and corn bread, and enjoy
