Ingredients

    vegetable oil
  • 1
    onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 Tbsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    freshly ground black pepper
  • 3
    rib eye steaks, 16-ounces each
  • 1 Tbsp
    paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    cayenne
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    freshly ground white pepper

How to Make Cajun Rib-Eye Steak

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine oil, sliced onion, garlic powder and 1 tablespoon black pepper in 13- by 9- by 2-inch glass baking dish.
  2. Add steaks to marinade, turning to coat.
  3. Spoon half of sliced onion evenly over steaks. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  4. Prepare barbecue (medium-high heat) or preheat broiler.
  5. Remove steaks from marinade.
  6. Combine paprika, cayenne, salt, white pepper and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper in small bowl.
  7. Sprinkle each side of each steak with 1 teaspoon spice mixture.
  8. Grill or broil steaks until cooked through, about 8 minutes per side for medium-rare.
  9. Cut each steak in half. Divide steaks among plates; serve.
