Can't get any easier than this delicious meal. Put the ingredients in a covered oven proof pan, and forget about it. Don't stir or open the lid till the 3 hours is up. Stir and serve...After the first hour of this baking, the aroma will make you want to look...don't do it!!! This stew is more about the meat, than vegetables. If you add a lot of veggies, I would double the ingredients and add more time to the cooking. I have served with noodles, mashed potatoes or rice. Enjoy! It's delicious!! My photos

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds stew meat
  • 1/2 cup dry, red wine
  • 1 - 10.5 ounces cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 - 8 ounces can, sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1 package lipton onion soup mix
  • 3/4 pound baby carrots - optional
  • IF TOO THICK WHEN FINISHED...JUST ADD A LITTLE WATER OR BEEF BROTH
  • 1/4 - 1/2 cup beef broth - optional - to thin out - do not add while cooking, decide after if you want to use
  • I HAVE STARTED DOUBLING THIS RECIPE, AND ADDING MORE VEGGIES, SUCH AS CHUNKS OF POTATOES...I JUST DOUBLE THE MEAT AND SOUP...ALWAYS COMES OUT DELICIOUS

How To Make busy day beef stew

  • Step 1
Place ingredients in a large pot or casserole dish with a tight lid, in the order I have listed. Do not stir. Bake in a 300 degree oven for 3 hours. Do not lift the lid.
  • Step 2
When the time is up, stir and serve. I added carrots this time, sometimes I add potatoes. Entirely up to you. Served with mashed potatoes today. Enjoy!
