uncooked rice
1 medium
onion, chopped fine
1 clove
garlic, minced
salt and pepper to taste
1 lb
ground beef
2 can(s)
(14.5 oz.) stewed tomatoes, undrained
1 can(s)
cream of celery soup, undiluted
1 can(s)
(8 oz.) tomato sauce
1/2 tsp
oregano
1/2 to 1 tsp
chili powder

How to Make Beefy Spanish Rice Louie

Step-by-Step

  • 1Saute rice in oil until golden brown.
  • 2Add onion, garlic, salt and pepper, and ground beef. Cook, stirring, until beef is browned and crumbly. Drain off grease.
  • 3Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Transfer to a greased ovenproof casserole dish.
  • 4Bake in a 350 F. oven for 1 hour, covering after the first 15 minutes.
