Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 1/3 cups uncooked rice
- 1 medium onion, chopped fine
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- - salt and pepper to taste
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cans (14.5 oz.) stewed tomatoes, undrained
- 1 can cream of celery soup, undiluted
- 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoons chili powder

Step 1Saute rice in oil until golden brown.

Step 2Add onion, garlic, salt and pepper, and ground beef. Cook, stirring, until beef is browned and crumbly. Drain off grease.

Step 3Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Transfer to a greased ovenproof casserole dish.

Step 4Bake in a 350 F. oven for 1 hour, covering after the first 15 minutes.
