This recipe is a family favorite. We cook it several times a month. I often don't add the extra salt. It's also easy to double if you're expecting company. For my WW friends, the points (not including the noodles) is 9 per serving. It's an extra 6 points to add a cup of egg noodles.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef or 1 pkg stew meat
  • 1 package mushrooms sliced, 8 oz
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 packages brown gravy mix (equal to 8 tablespoons) + 1 cup water
  • 1 - onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 package egg noodles
  • - sour cream to garnish

How To Make beef stroganoff

  • Step 1
    Brown meat and saute onion.
  • Step 2
    Combine salt, pepper, garlic powder, soup and brown gravy (already mixed with 1 cup water) in a bowl.
  • Step 3
    Put meat and onion mixture in crock pot. Stir in mushrooms. Pour sauce over top.
  • Step 4
    Cook on low 6-8 hours.
  • Step 5
    Cook noodles.
