This is a recipe from my family friend - Mrs. Ewell. When I was born, I was named after her husband - Mister Billy.

Ingredients For beef stroganoff

  • 1/2 stick
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    onion
  • 1 lb
    round steak, cut in finger size
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    paprika
  • 1 can
    cream of celery soup
  • 1 can
    cream of chicken soup
  • 1 sm
    can sliced mushrooms
  • 1 can
    sliced water chestnuts
  • 1 c
    sour cream
  • dried noodles
  • cooked rice

How To Make beef stroganoff

  • 1
    Sauté onions in butter or margarine.
  • 2
    Mix beef, salt, pepper and paprika.
  • 3
    Add mixture to onions.
  • 4
    Cook until the meat is a grayish color.
  • 5
    Add soups, water chestnuts and mushrooms.

    Cook on low heat for 5 minutes.

    Add sour cream.
  • 8
    Remove from heat.

    Serve on rice with dried noodles on top.
