Ingredients

1 1/2 lb
round steak
1 small
onion, diced
1/4 c
flour
8 oz
fresh, mushrooms, sliced
12 oz
egg noodles
8 oz
sour cream
4 Tbsp
oil
pepper, to taste
water

How to Make Beef Stroganoff

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cube and flour the steak.
  • 2Heat 3 Tbs. oil in a large skillet. Brown the steak.
  • 3Mean while in a small skillet saute onion and mushrooms in 1 Tbs. oil
  • 4Add mushrooms and onion to the steak.
  • 5Fill the skillet to 1/2 inch from top with water.
  • 6Simmer, stirring occasionally, until the meat is tender. Be sure the steak doesn't stick. It will form a gravy as it cooks. You can add more water if needed.
  • 7While meat is simmering, cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain
  • 8Right before serving, stir in the sour cream. mix well.
  • 9Serve the stroganoff over the noodles.
