I found other stew recipes but none of them had enough flavor for me so I made up my own. (high sodium) but so good. Goes really well with Irish Soda Bread.

Slow Cooker Crock Pot

Ingredients

1 1/2 lb
beef stew meat
32 oz
beef broth
5 large
potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 pkg
french onion soup mix
4 clove
garlic, minced
1 large
onion, cubed
2 tsp
beef bullion
3 large
carrots, peeled and sliced
3
celery ribs, sliced
4 Tbsp
cornstarch
2
whole, bay leaves
seasoning to taste for the stew meat

How to Make Beef Stew

Step-by-Step

  • 1Brown stew meat (doesn't have to be cooked all the way through, it will finish cooking in the slow cooker) in a skillet with olive oil and seasoning (I use Nature's Seasoning Blend).
  • 2In a slow cooker add the potatoes, stew meat, onion, garlic, onion soup mix, broth, bullion, and bay leaves. Turn slow cooker on low for 4 to 6 hours.
  • 3An hour before ready to serve add the carrots, celery and cornstarch (this will sound funny but you want to dip a measuring cup into the hot broth so be careful just enough to make a paste with the cornstarch then add the paste into the slow cooker then stir if you don't do it that way it will be lumpy). Serve.
