This is an easy version of the classic dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 pounds beef round steak, cubed
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 8 ounces baby portebello mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 medium onion, diced
  • 2 - carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make beef burgundy

  • Step 1
    Turn slow cooker on high.
  • Step 2
    Place flour in a shallow dish. Flour the beef
  • Step 3
    Melt butter in skillet. Then brown the beef in the butter for 5 to 6 minutes. Place browned beef in the slow cooker.
  • Step 4
    Add wine and the cooked bacon. Cook for 4 hours.
  • Step 5
    Add mushrooms, onion, carrots, salt and pepper. Add water and broth. Cook an additional hour.
