Ingredients
- 1/4 cup oil
- 3 pounds lean beef sirloin cubed
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 cup canned beef broth
- 1 cup dry red wine a burgundy
- 1/2 cup button mushrooms
- 12 small onions white out of jars
How To Make beef bourgugnon

Step 1Heat oven to 325 degrees

Step 2Saute beef cubes in shortening until brown stir in flour , pepper, thyme scrapping bottom of skillet.

Step 3Transfer all into 2 qt. baking dish Pour on beef broth and wine . Cover and bake 2 hours stirring occasionally.

Step 4After 2 hours add mushrooms and onions and bake 2 more hours add more wine if needed. Skim off any fat and serve with mashed potatoes.
