Got this recipe from my friend Dorothy is the best chili i ever had her husband won several contest with it .

Ingredients

  • 1/8 cup olive oil
  • 4 medium onions,chopped
  • 2 medium green bell peppers
  • 2 pounds ground sirloin
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground chuck 90% lean
  • 1 can tomato paste 6oz
  • 2 cans tomato sauce 16oz each
  • 4 cans chili ready tomatoes
  • 3 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 2 jars chili powder 3oz each
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 3 cans kidney beans 16oz
  • 1 can pinto beans (12-13 oz )
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin

How To Make award winning chili

  • Step 1
    Brown meat and drain, Heat oil in 12 quart pot over medium heat. Saute onions, green peppers and minced garlic until softened about 10 minutes, add meat,tomato paste, chili ready tomatoes and tomato sauce stir. Add garlic powder, chili powder, salt, black pepper, cumin, and oregano, stir until mixed well add kidney beans, pinto beans stir until mixed well . reduce heat simmer on low for 3 hours stirring every 15 minutes
