If you love spaghetti, you will love this dish. Sometimes I top it off with shredded parmesan instead of mozzarella. Add salad, garlic bread and a glass of wine..Delizioso!

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 - eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 pound italian sausage
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 6 - roma tomatoes, chopped
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon oregano, dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

How To Make spaghetti pie

  • Step 1
    Cook spaghetti according to package directions; drain, should have about 3 cups. Stir butter into hot spaghetti. Stir in parmesan cheese and eggs. Form spaghetti mixture into a "crust" in a buttered 10 inch pie plate. Spread ricotta cheese over bottom spaghetti crust.
  • Step 2
    In skillet, cook sausage and onion till meat is browned. Drain off fat. Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano and garlic salt; heat through. Turn meat mixture into spaghetti crust. Bake, uncovered, in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese atop. Bake 5 minutes longer or till cheese melts.
