I love anything that's easy and delicious. This pizza is great as an appetizer, lunch or a side dish at dinner. Trust me, everyone will want this recipe. Enjoy!

2 medium
onions, thinly sliced
1 Tbsp
butter or margarine
1 Tbsp
olive oil
1 Tbsp
brown sugar
1 Tbsp
balsamic vinegar
1/4 c
pitted whole dates, chopped
1/4 c
pine (pignoli) nuts or slivered almonds
1/2 c
shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 c
shredded smoked cheddar cheese
1/2 c
shredded smoked gouda cheese
boboli pizza shell

How to Make Smoked Cheese and Onion Pizza


  • 1Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  • 2In large skillet, cook onion in butter and oil over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • 3Stir in sugar, vinegar and dates. Cook and stir for 5 minutes more or until onions are golden brown.
  • 4Remove from heat and stir in nuts.
  • 5In a bowl, combine cheeses; sprinkle evenly over pizza shell. Top with onion mixture.
  • 6Place shell on an ungreased baking sheet or place directly on a pizza stone in oven.
  • 7Bake for 8 minutes or until cheese is melted. Let stand for 5 minutes before cutting (if you can wait that long.) Can be cut into squares or rectangles.
