We use this recipe for the pizza dough. NONE of us have ever made the topping or ate it. I add this note so you know the last 4 ingredients are not essential (ie just the topping. Mom E's original toppings for this pizza are included in this recipe. To make sour milk-- add 1 tablespoon of vinegar to regular.

Ingredients

buttermilk or sour milk- see note
1 Tbsp
sugar
2 Tbsp
butter
1 pkg
active dry yeast
2 c
all purpose flour
1 tsp
salt
1/4 tsp
baking soda
1 can(s)
bean with bacon soup (11 1/2 oz can)
1/4 c
ketchup
2 Tbsp
mustard
1 Tbsp
onion, minced
1 lb
hot dogs (wieners)
1 c
cheese, shredded

How to Make Pauper's Pizza

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven @ 400 degrees
  • 2Combine buttermilk, sugar, butter
  • 3Heat in a LARGE saucepan, to lukewarm.
  • 4Remove from heat.
  • 5Add yeast, stir to dissolve
  • 6Stir in flour, salt, and baking soda until smooth (about 1 min)
  • 7Let the dough rest about 10 mins.
  • 8Roll dough out in greased 12 in pizza pan OR cookie sheet
  • 9Spread with topping
  • 10Bake at 400 for 20-25 mins
  • 11quick topping--

    Condense soup, catsup, mustard, minced onion, hotdogs. Sprinkle 1 cup grated cheese on top
  • 12Mommy E's topping

    Tomatoes, onions and hamburger fried in a pan. Drain oil.
