small onion, finely chopped
1 tsp
garlic, minced
1 can(s)
petite diced tomatoes (14 oz.)
1 tsp
sugar
1/8 c
vodka
3/4 c
heavy cream

How to Make Pasta in Vodka Sauce

Step-by-Step

  • 1Prepare penne according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large, well-oiled skillet over medium-high heat, sauté onion for 5 minutes or until translucent. Add minced garlic; sauté 1 minute.
  • 2Add tomatoes and sugar, reduce heat to medium and simmer for 20 minutes. Add vodka; season with salt and pepper and cook for 1 – 2 minutes. Add cream and cook just until heated through. In a large bowl, combine pasta and sauce.
