  • 1 lb
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 2 clove
  • ·
    butter /for pan
  • ·
    kosher salt /fresh cracked pepper
  • 1 c
    fresh parmesan
  • 8 oz
    shredded mozzarella

How to Make Pasta Cake


  1. In a large pot of salted boiling water;cook pasta until slightly underdone 9about 12 minutes)Use a large pot so the pasta doesn't stick together.When done,rinse in cold water and drain again.Toss pasta with one tablespoon of olive oil to coat;set aside.
  2. Heat remaining 1 tblsp. oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    Add ground beef.Cook,stirring occassionally until browned.Add garlic,salt and pepper to taste.Cook two more minutes.
  3. Add the crushed tomatoes;smmer until thickened.{about 20 minutes)
  4. Toss the cooked pasta with the Parmesan cheese.
  5. Butter a 9 inch SPRINGFORM PAN ;Tightly pack pasta into pan,standing each piece on end.
    Spread meat sauce on top of pasta.
  6. BAKE:at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.
    Sprinkle mozzarella on top and bake another 10=15 minutes until the cheese is golden.
  7. Remove from the oven.Let stand for 15 minutes.Run a knife around the edge to loosen.UNMOLD.
    Cut into wedges and serve.
