My Mother was a great cook. She loved to make new and different things. We were eating Chinese and Italian before any of my friends knew what that was. In grade school, we'd talk about what we had for dinner last night. The other kids would tell about fried chicken and jello. My Mom would have made Shrimp Newberg, Chop Suey, Chicken Catchatori or her wonderful Spaghetti and her double chocolate pie with high peaked meringue for dessert.

  • 1 lb. box
  • 2 lb
    ground round
  • 1 medium
    yellow onion chopped
  • 2 can(s)
    spaghetti sauce
  • 2 can(s)
    tomato paste (small)
  • 2 can(s)
    diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 c
  • 2 pkg
    zesty spaghetti sauce mix
  • 1 Tbsp
    minced garlic

How to Make Not Your Nona's Spagetti


  1. Place ground round in bottom of slow cooker. Separate with fork. Add remaining ingredients and stir. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours.
  2. Follow direction on box for cooking spaghetti and drain.
  3. Mix sauce and cooked spaghetti in large pasta bowl and serve.
