Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound pork, ground
  • 1 - onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 - green bell pepper, diced
  • 3 - garlic cloves, minced
  • 5 cups crushed tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 3 - bay leaf
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

How To Make meat sauce for spaghetti

  • Step 1
    Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Step 2
    Add beef, pork, onion, green pepper and garlic and saute until browned, about 10 minutes.
  • Step 3
    With a slotted spoon to drain off the fat, place the sauteed ingredients in a 4 quart saucepan.
  • Step 4
    Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.
  • Step 5
    Slowly bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 2 hours.
