Since we are in the middle of the boonies...we can't find good pizza (God I miss Chicago pizza!!!!!). I have numerous times have tried to make it...kit to put together = yuk, take & bake from the grocery store deli = yuk, gas station (Hunt Brothers) pizza = not too bad, Pizza Hut = the best we can do (but still not Chicago pizza). So I am trying one last time........ This is fantastic!

Ingredients

  • 1 can (13.8 oz.) refrigerated pizza crust, i used pillsbury - located by the crescent rolls
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese with a touch of philadelphia, divided (i also added fresh mozzarella balls too
  • 3-4 medium tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup kraft sun dried tomato vinaigrette dressing made with extra virgin olive oil, i couldn't find this, but used ken's sun dried tomato vinaigrette - delishous!!!
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • - fresh basil, chopped
  • - cooking spray
  • - cookie sheet

How To Make margherita pizza

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Step 2
    Unroll pizza dough onto baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray; pat into 15 x 10" retangle. Bake 10 minutes (crust will not be done.)
  • Step 3
    Top with 1 C. mozzarella & tomatoes. Mix dressing & garlic; drizzle over tomatoes. Sprinkle with remaining cheeses & basil.
  • Step 4
    Bake 8 minutes or until mozzarella is melted & crust is golden brown.
