Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 recipe classic pizza dough
  • 1/3 recipe cup pizza sauce
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, low-fat
  • 1 can diced tomatoes with garlic & onion, drained
  • 2 tablespoons roasted garlic
  • pepper, to taste
  • 1 ounce buffalo mozzarella, torn into pieces
  • 12 basil leave, fresh, chopped
  • Parmesan cheese, fat-free

How To Make margherita pizza

  • Step 1
    First, make pizza dough & pizza sauce: https://www.justapinch.com/recipes/main-course/italian/classic-pizza-dough-sauce.html
  • Step 2
    Place pizza stone in oven & preheat it to 500 degrees F.
  • Step 3
    Lightly dust work surface with flour. Roll out dough into 12" round. Transfer to parchment lined baking sheet; prick all over with fork.
  • Step 4
    Spread sauce all over dough; scatter over parsley & shredded mozzarella. Top evenly with tomatoes; scatter over roasted garlic & season with pepper.
  • Step 5
    Slide pizza from paper to pizza stone, using a wide spatula, if needed. Bake 3 - 5 minutes; place buffalo mozzarella on pizza; bake 3 - 5 more minutes or until golden & crisp.
  • Step 6
    Carefully remove pizza from oven using wide sp!atula & transfer to cutting board. Sprinkle with basil & parmesan cheese & enjoy
