Ingredients

  • 3 lb
    italian sausage links, cut into 3/4 in. slices, casing removed
  • 4 medium
    green peppers, cut into thin strips
  • 1 medium
    onion, thinly sliced and quartered
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter or stick marg.
  • 1 Tbsp
    olive or canola oil
  • 3 Tbsp
    chicken broth
  • 6
    plum tomatoes, coarsely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    minced fresh parsley
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    lemon juice

How to Make ITALIAN SAUSAGE PEPPERS

Step-by-Step

  1. In a dutch oven, cook the sausage over medium heat until no longer pink: drain. Add the remaining ingredients. Cover and cook for 30 min. or until vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally. Serve with a slotted spoon.
  2. I will usually make this recipe and serve it over some cooked penne noodles.
