Ingredients For italian sausage casserole

  • 6 links italian sausage
  • 8 large potatos
  • 2 green peppers
  • 1 lb. whole mushrooms
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 jar mild or medium chunky salsa
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tsp. italian seasoning

How To Make italian sausage casserole

  • 1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cut sausage links in half. Peel potatoes and cut in chunks. Cut green peppers in half and cut each half into quarters. Slice onion. Leave mushrooms whole.

Pour water in bottom of lasagna pan (should be larger than a 9 x 13 pan). Add potatoes, then add green peppers, onions and mushrooms. Add sausage on top of veggies. Drizzle olive oil over casserole, and then add salsa evenly over the top. Add seasonings
  • 3
Cook in 400 degree oven approximately 90 minutes or until veggies are tender and sausage is brown. I usually turn sausage a couple of time during baking to brown on all sides. Add a little more water if it totally evaporates. When casserole is done, add mozzarella cheese and continue baking until melted.
