I found a recipe for penne pasta in a weight watchers book and it gave me the idea for this recipe. Everyone asks for more when they try this dish. It makes plenty and is easy and quick. Serve with a salad and garlic toast.

Ingredients
- 1 box uncooked mostaccioli or penne pasta
- 1 1/2 pounds ground turkey or beef
- 1/4 cup onion, chopped
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 lb jar spaghetti sauce
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon oregano
- 1/2 tablespoon basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup italian blend shredded cheese
How To Make italian baked mostaccioli

Step 1Cook mostaccioli according to package directions, drain and set aside (stir in a touch of olive oil to prevent sticking). Cook turkey meat/beef, chopped onion and half the garlic until meat is done. Drain well and set aside.

Step 2Preheat oven to 375. Combine spaghetti sauce, diced tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt , pepper and remaining garlic, stir well. Add ground meat to sauce and combine well.

Step 3Pour pasta in deep baking dish. Pour sauce over pasta. Blend well until all pasta is coated. Bake in 375 degrees oven for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle shredded cheese over top. Place back in oven and bake for 10 minutes.
