Ingredients

  • 1.25 ounces yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1.25 cups warm water
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3.5 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1 - onion, finely chopped
  • 15 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 - green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cups mozzarella, slices

How To Make homemade pizza

  • Step 1
    In large bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in water.
  • Step 2
    Let stand for 5 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Add oil and salt.
  • Step 4
    Stir in flour, a cup at a time, to form soft dough.
  • Step 5
    Turn onto floured board.
  • Step 6
    Knead until smooth and elastic, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Step 7
    Place in greased bowl, turning once to grease top.
  • Step 8
    Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 45 minutes.

    Meanwhile, brown beef and onion.
  • Step 10
    Drain.

    Punch dough down.
  • Step 12
    Divide in half.
  • Step 13
    Press each into a greased 12 inch pizza pan.
  • Step 14
    Combine the tomato sauce, oregano and basil.
  • Step 15
    Spread over each crust.

    Top with beef mixture, green pepper and cheese.
  • Step 17
    Bake at 400 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until crust is lightly browned. Yield 2 pizzas.
