hamburger cheese bake
This is the first casserole I ever made. Been using the same recipe since 1969. It tastes almost like lasagne, just different pasta. Leftovers, if there are any, are great warmed up the next day. I am making this tomorrow (5/23/21) to take to a family member with a new baby!

Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 cans tomato sauce (8 oz size)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon each: salt, pepper and garlic powder
- 4 cups uncooked medium noodles
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1 package (8 ounce size) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/3 cup chopped green onions
- 1/3 cup chopped green pepper
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese

Step 1Cook meat and onions. Stir in tomato sauce, sugar, salt, garlic powder and pepper. Remove from heat. Cook noodles.

Step 2Combine cottage cheese, cream cheese and sour cream, green onions and green peppers.

Step 3In a pan (13x9 size) spread half the noodles; top with slightly less than half the meat sauce, cover with cheese mixture. Add remaining noodles and meat sauce. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake 350 degrees F for 30 minutes.
