My children's grandmother (whose mom was from Sicily) taught me how to make some really yummy spaghetti sauce :)

This is enough for 2lbs. of pasta, or for two meals

  • 1 large
    yellow onions
  • 6 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • 2 lb
    ground beef
  • 2 can(s)
    spaghetti sauce
  • 1 can(s)
    diced tomatoes, large can
  • dash(es)
    salt and pepper
  • dash(es)
  • dash(es)
    seasoned salt
  • dash(es)
    italian seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 2 lb
    spaghetti noodles
  • 1
    loaf of garlic bread

How to Make Grandma Mary’s Spaghetti Sauce


  1. Sauté the onion and garlic in a large pan. When the onions are translucent, maybe 5 minutes, then add the ground beef and brown.
  2. When browned, add the remaining ingredients, seasoning to taste.
  3. Cover and simmer on low for 2 to 3 hours. Or, you can put it in the slow-cooker on low for the day
