My mom was born in Naples, Italy and this is one recipe she made that no one else did. She didn't make it often but we loved it when she did.
- bread dough
- 16 oz
- asiago or american cheese
- 3 c
- canola oil
- 1 bottle
- tomato sauce
- 16 oz
- ricotta or cottage cheese
1Heat oil to frying temperature. You can test this by placing small amt of dough in oil, it should puff up immediately.
2Roll bread dough to small plate size using rolling pin.
3When oil has reaching frying temp, gently slide your pizza dough into the oil making sure not to splash.
4When one side is lightly browned and puffed, flip over gently and add a sprinkling of cheese.
5Once the other side has browned, drain pizzas on paper towels.
6Serve immediately with sauce. Obviously you can add other ingredients as you desire such as black olives, sauted onions, cooked meats or cold cuts, etc.
7Add parmesan or ricotta/cottage cheese and enjoy.
