Ingredients
- 1 pound bulk italian sausage, mild or hot to your liking
- 3/4 cup green bell pepper, chopped
- 3/4 cup red bell pepper, chopped
- 3/4 cup onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups italian bread, cubed to 1" pieces
- 2 cups provolone cheese, shredded
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/3 cup asiago cheese, grated
- 1/3 cup basil, fresh, chopped
How To Make cheesy italian breakfast bake

Step 1Spray 13 x 9" glass or ceramic baking dish with cooking spray. Cook sausage, bell peppers, onion & garlic in large nonstick skillet over medium high heat 6 - 8 minutes or until sausage is no longer pink in center & vegetables are slightly softened, stirring occasionally & crumbling sausage. Drain; discard drippings.

Step 2Arrange 1/2 of the bread cubes in baking dish; layer with 1/2 of the sausage mixture & 1 C of the Provolone cheese. Repeat layers.

Step 3Whisk eggs lightly in medium bowl. Whisk in milk, salt & pepper until well blended. Pour over bread mixture in baking dish, pressing down so all ingredients are moistened. Cover; refrigerate overnight.

Step 4Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Sprinkle with Asiago cheese. Bake, uncovered, 40 - 45 minutes or until golden brown & set. Remove from oven; let stand 10 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with basil.
