bbq chicken pizza

This pizza is amazing! Found the recipe in a cool new cook book I found called Eat This Not That; one of my co-workers brought the book to me to look at. Made it last night for dinner and it even got the hubby's approval. It's a simply family friendly recipe that is sure to tickle everyone's taste buds...(okay, I'll quit :)

Ingredients

  • 1 - refrigerated pizza crust dough
  • 2 - chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 1 - jalapeno pepper
  • 1/2 cup your favorite bbq sauce
  • 2 cups pepperjack cheese
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, low-fat
  • - salt and pepper
  • - olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1/2 - onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, grated

How To Make bbq chicken pizza

  • Step 1
    Preheat your oven to 400 degrees
  • Step 2
    Take your chicken breasts, season with salt & pepper throw it in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes depending on the size After it bakes take out of the oven and allow it to cool
  • Step 3
    Drizzle your pizza pan with olive oil and salt and pepper (no I am not crazy, just try it this just adds another level of flavor to a rather boring type pizza crust)
  • Step 4
    Take your crust out of the container only spread it out just a little bit do not stretch the crust to fit the pan. You won't get a fluffy crust if you stretch it out to fit the pan!
  • Step 5
    Drizzle the crust with olive oil salt & pepper and sprinkle your grated garlic clove onto the crust
  • Step 6
    Put the crust in the oven and let it bake for about 5 minutes
  • Step 7
    Take the crust out of the oven, let it cool for about 10 minutes

    After your pizza crust has cooled dump on your BBQ sauce, and spread it evenly around the crust Spr

    Sprinkle on a mixture of the cheeses ( a small amount not all of it!)
  • Step 10
    Cut the chicken into cubes and take the whole cup and sprinkle onto the crust
  • Step 11
    The put break up your thin onion slices and place them on your pizza crust along with the slices of the jalapeno.
  • Step 12
    Sprinkle on the rest of your chosen toppings and the rest of your cheese.

    Place it back in the oven until the cheese is melted the crust is golden brown
