this recipe was handed down to my mother from her mother. I'm sure I spelled the name wrong cause only my mom could read my grandmothers hand writing lol. I was born & raised in Hawaii. My dad use to go on a fishing trip once a month & he always made sure to catch at least 1 big fish. After he would come home, he would clean the big fish as my mom cleaned & put away the small fishes. My mom would them make the marinade & soak the fish. We knew what was for dinner the next day. My mother also used this marinade for making roast & roasting potatoes. Was so good...

Ingredients For vinadoes

  • 1
    lager whole fish
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    salt
  • 1/3 Tbsp
    pepper
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    garlic, minced
  • 1
    ginger
  • 2 to 4
    chili peppers
  • 1/2 c
    apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1/3 c
    sugar

How To Make vinadoes

    First clean fish. Place on the side. Then mix all the ingredients together well. Place fish in a ziploc bag, pour marinade over fish & place in the ice box between 2 to 24 hrs. 24 hrs is best.

    Then remove from ice box & bag. Place in lager heavy frying pan over medium heat & fry on both sides for about 5 to 10 mins. You may also bake this in a 350F. oven for 10 to 20 mins. The longer you bake it the crispier the skin will become.
