tuna patties with warm lemon dill sauce
These patties are so moist and tender! Mild flavor profile kicked up a bit with the tangy and creamy warm sauce! I have been making these for about 25 years now. We love them! I rounded up the prep and cooking times, but I usually have this completely done in 20 minutes. Since I was a kid, we always have tuna patties with tater tots!

Ingredients
- 2 small cans of tuna, packed in water, and drained
- 20-25 - saltine crackers, crushed
- 1 tablespoon dijion mustard
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 small onion, minced
- 1 stalk celery, minced
- 1 clove garlic, pressed or minced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 dashes salt
- 1 dash black pepper
- WARM LEMON DILL SAUCE
- 2 tablespoons plain, nonfat greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 light dash seasoning salt
- 2 dashes black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons dried dill
- 1-2 dash hot sauce, i use old bay hot sauce
- 2 dashes each of garlic powder and onion powder
How To Make tuna patties with warm lemon dill sauce

Step 1In a skillet melt butter until lightly browned, be careful to watch closely so it doesnt burn. Add onion and celery with salt and pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently to prevent burning of butter, just until soft. Just as they become softened add garlic. Stir and cook for about 1 minute. Remove from heat.

Step 2While that is cooking, in a medium mixing bowl combine tuna, crackers, egg, mayonnaise, and mustard. Add the cooked vegetables and stir well to combine.

Step 3Separate into 4, form into patties with hands. This is very wet, but should be able to hold together slightly. Place patties in skillet sprayed with nonstick spray, cook over medium-low heat for about 5 minutes. They are ready to flip when the top looks dried up a bit, not as shiny. Cook on other side for 5 minutes. Remove to a plate, keep warm.

Step 4While the patties are cooking make sauce. In a bowl combine all ingredients for the sauce. After you have removed the patties from the pan, pour sauce into still warm skillet. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly for 3 minutes. Return to bowl.

Step 5Serve patties with or without the sauce and enjoy!
