Ingredients

  • 2 cans tuna in water (5 oz each)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup light mayo (I prefer dukes light)
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1/2 cup Panko bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese; a melty combination like mozzarella/provolone mix
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley
  • 1 - fresh lemon, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

How To Make tuna melt patties

  • Step 1
Beat together egg, mayo, and mustard in a medium mixing bowl.
  • Step 2
Add in 2 cans of drained tuna in water and mix.
  • Step 3
Add in Panko crumbs, seasoning, and cheese.
  • Step 4
In a cast iron skillet or frying pan, add 2 Tbsp of olive oil (you may add more depending on the size of your frying pan). Heat on medium high heat.
  • Step 5
Shape the tuna mixture into 4 patties and place in the frying pan.
  • Step 6
Brown on one side for approximately 5 minutes; then flip and repeat.
  • Step 7
Remove from the frying pan and place on a plate with paper towels to soak up extra oil.
  • Step 8
Garnish with fresh chopped parsley. Use the lemon to squeeze some fresh lemon juice on the patties and enjoy!
