I created a first kind of oven-fried catfish nugget recipe with teriyaki. It's inspired by Kinder's Teriyaki seasoning. It's good with fried rice and egg rolls.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Teriyaki sauce
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 1 tablespoon dark sesame oil
  • 6 tablespoons Teriyaki seasoning, divided
  • 3/4 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 cup Panko bread crumbs
  • 2 pounds catfish fillets, cut into smaller pieces

How To Make teriyaki oven-fried catfish nuggets

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Step 2
    Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and mist with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Step 3
    In a large bowl, combine heavy cream, teriyaki sauce, half and half, dark sesame oil, and 3 tablespoons teriyaki seasoning; whisk together until blended.
  • Step 4
    In a deep pie plate, combine yellow cornmeal, Old Bay seasoning, bread crumbs, and remaining Teriyaki seasoning; mix well with a fork until combined.
  • Step 5
    Dip each catfish piece in the Teriyaki mixture with a fork.
  • Step 6
    Transfer well-coated catfish nuggets into crumb mixture; mix well.
  • Step 7
    Place on a coated baking sheet.
  • Step 8
    Bake for 25 minutes or until the fillets are golden brown.
