spicy honey garlic black cod
Really good. I served it with rice, pickled cucumbers and pickled ginger. It's spicy and the cucumbers are a nice cooling taste.

How To Make spicy honey garlic black cod
-
Step 1First place the cucumbers in a bowl and season with salt. Mix the vinegar and water together. Pour over the cucumbers and place in fridge.
-
Step 2Mix the soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and chili paste together. Place in a flat shallow dish and place the fish flesh side down. Let marinate for 2 hours.
-
Step 3Add oil to a cast iron pan. Remove the fish from the marinade and dry with paper towels. Add the marinade to a saucepan and bring to a boil. Lower heat to med low and reduce for about 5 minutes. If it caramelizes, add water to make sure it is thick but liquid.
-
Step 4Add the cod to the pan skin side down. Cook about 5 minutes to get a good crispy skin. Turn the fish and cook about 7 more minutes more or less depending on how thick the fish is.
-
Step 5Serve over rice with the sauce drizzled over the fish and around the rice. Drain the cucumbers and add to the side of the plate.
