spicy fish boulettes

This is a dish that was introduced to America by African slaves.

Ingredients

  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 small habanero pepper, fresh; seeded & chopped
  • 2 small sweet onions, roughly chopped
  • 2 - scallions, white and light greenstalks only, roughly chopped
  • 1 bunch parsley, stemmed & roughly chopped
  • - salt & freshly ground pepper to taste
  • 1 - vegetable bouillon cube
  • 2 pounds firm, white fish fillets
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • - oil for frying

How To Make spicy fish boulettes

  • Step 1
    In a food processor or blender, blend the first seven ingredients. Transfer to a bowl.
  • Step 2
    Cut fish in cubes and process until smooth. Add to onion mixture with bread crumbs and milk.
  • Step 3
    Oil your hands and shape into walnut sized balls.
  • Step 4
    Pour about 1 to 2 inches of oil into a large sauté pan and heat to 175 degrees. Deep fry boulettes in batches until browned and cooked through.
  • Step 5
    I serve mine with Spicy Lime sauce...yummy!
