sour cream halibut
Living on the coast in Alaska ensures you have abundant fish. Halibut is one of my favorite options. It is a firm but mild white fish. This is one of the easy, quick recipes that my family loves. Almost every Alaskan has their own version of this recipe. I like to serve this with rice.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 - 2 pounds halibut, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 cup saltine cracker crumbs (I use whole wheat ones)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 3/4 cup chopped onion
- 2 cups mozzerella cheese, shredded
How To Make sour cream halibut
-
Step 1Coat halibut with cracker crumbs. Place in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish in a single layer. Cover with shredded cheese.
-
Step 2Mix sour cream, mayonnaise, and onion together (I add salt and pepper to taste). Spread over the cheese layer. Try to completely cover the cheese in order to seal in the moisture of the fish.
-
Step 3Bake at 500 degrees F for 20 minutes.
