shrimp w/spicy hot garlic sauce

My brother just loves this shrimp dish, I do, too, but not so much of the spiciness. I like just a touch of heat. But of course, you put the heat to your taste.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds shrimp, uncooked, cleaned, deveined, leave the tails on
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons mirin (japanese cooking wine)
  • 1 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 - stalks green onions, thinly sliced

How To Make shrimp w/spicy hot garlic sauce

  • Step 1
    In a small bowl, mix together all the ingredients, except the olive oil, garlic and green onions.
  • Step 2
    In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add in the garlic, don't burn it, about 30 seconds, it will be bitter if you do.
  • Step 3
    Add the shrimp, just cook till both sides are pink, about a minute and a half.
  • Step 4
    Add all the sauce mixture and stir so the shrimp just cooks. Do not over cook the shrimp it will become rubbery.
  • Step 5
    Remove from heat and place onto a serving platter and garnish with green onions.
