Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons peppercorns, black
  • 3 quarts water
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 - limes, quartered
  • 1 pound medium shrimp, peeled, deveined & tails off
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro, fresh, chopped
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon jalapeno pepper, minced
  • 12 - 6" - corn tortillas
  • GARNISH:
  • - tomato, diced
  • - sour cream
  • - green onions
  • - mexican blend shredded cheese
  • - avocado, sliced

How To Make shrimp tacos

  • Step 1
    Place the peppercorns on a double layer of cheesecloth. Gather edges of cheesecloth together, & tie securely. Combine cheesecloth bag, water, salt, red pepper & lime quarters in a Dutch oven. Bring to a boil; cook 2 minutes. Add shrimp; cook 2 minutes or until done. Drain. Discard cheesecloth bag & lime quarters.
  • Step 2
    Combine shrimp, cilantro, lime juice & jalapeño pepper, tossing well to coat. Heat tortillas according to package directions. Spoon 1/3 C shrimp mixture into each tortilla; top each taco with tomato, sour cream, onions, cheese & avocado.
