shelled and deveined large shrimp
1/4 c
soy sauce
2 Tbsp
lime juice
1 Tbsp
brown sugar
1 tsp
ground cumin
1/2 tsp
chili powder
2 clove
garlic (minced)
1/2 small
bunch fresh cilantro
3 Tbsp
vegetable oil
hot cooked rice

How to Make Shrimp Java


  • 1Combine shrimp, soy sauce, lime juice, sugar, cumin, chili powder, and garlic in a large bowl; stir until well mixed. Marinate 15 minutes
  • 2Remove and discard large stems from the cilantro. Rinse cilantro in a bowl of water several times to remove sand. Drain cilantro and dry in salad spinner. Coarsely chop cilantro.
  • 3Heat a wok over high heat about 1 minute or until hot. Drizzle oil into the wok and heat 30 seconds. Add shrimp mixture. Stir fry about 4 minutes or until shrimp turn pink and opaque. Add half of cilantro; toss to combine. transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with cilantro. Serve with rice.
