shrimp and grits
This recipe was copied from a FoodNetwork post in 2009. It said the recipe was courtesy Martha Nesbit. It was passed to me by a friend we cook it for special get togethers or holiday treat and we say it is family tested and good.

Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- - salt and pepper
- 1 cup stone ground grits
- 3 tablespoons butter, cold
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 6 slices bacon chopped
- 4 teaspoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- 1 cup thin sliced scaillions
- 1 large clove of garlic minced
How To Make shrimp and grits

Step 1Bring water to boil and cook grits until done add 3 tbls butter and 2 cups cheese stir until mixed

Step 2In a large skillet fry the bacon remove from the pan to drain. Put the shrimp into the grease and fry until pink. Remove from skillet and add the scaillions, garlic, lemon juice and parsley to grease and cook til tender.

Step 3Add all the ingredients to the grits stir in well and serve.
