A good friend told me the secret to his salmon patties--fresh rosemary. I incorporated it into my own salmon patty recipe & the whole family loves it! This is practically the only way, my 8-yr old will happily eat fish.

salmon, canned
1 medium
diced red onion or sweet onion
1 c
shredded zucchini
1/2 c
bread crumbs or instant mashed potatoes
1-2 Tbsp
fresh rosemary, minced (or 1 tsp dried)
1 clove
garlic, minced
salt & pepper to taste
1-2 Tbsp
oil or butter

How to Make Rosemary Salmon-Veggie Patties


  • 1Combine all ingredients, except oil or butter, in large bowl and mix well. Add more bread crumbs or instant potatoes if the mixture feels too wet.
  • 2Heat oil or butter on medium heat in large skillet or griddle. Scoop out about 1/4 cup of mixture and press onto skillet to form each patty.
  • 3Working in batches, cook patties for about 5 minutes on each side until browned.
  • 4Serve with tartar sauce, mayo, or spicy mustard.
