A recipe I found in Providencetown, MA, or better known as PTown.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup diced, salt pork
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1 cup clam liquor and water
  • 1 cup potatoes, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • - dash of pepper
  • 3 quarts quahogs (hard-shell clams) shucked and chopped with liquid reserved
  • 2 cups milk

How To Make quahog chowder

  • Step 1
    Fry Salt pork until golden. Add onion and cook until tender and transparent.
  • Step 2
    Add liquor, potatoes, salt, pepper and clams. Cook about 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Add milk. Heat. Serve with crackers.
