pesto tunafish melt sandwich

I wanted to make something different then your plain old tuna fish sandwich. I love pesto and thought this would be a good combination. It was! I also just loved Friendly's tuna melts and this was very similar. You can use any bread you want. Even my other half loved it and he doesn't really care for tunafish.

Ingredients

  • 1 can ( 50z ) tuna fish in water
  • 3 tablespoons mayo
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup jarred pesto
  • - fresh thinly sliced tomatoes
  • 2 slices of american cheese
  • 1 tablespoon minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 2-3 - pickle slices diced into small pieces

How To Make pesto tunafish melt sandwich

  • Step 1
    Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. Except for the cheese.
  • Step 2
    Assemble your sandwich with your choice of bread putting the cheese on the bread then the tuna mixture then another slice of cheese and top it off with another piece of bread.
  • Step 3
    Lightly spread margarine on the outside of your sandwich and cook in a pan until toasty and the cheese has melted.
