As a child I fished through the ice and caught many of these suckers. I can still remember the delicious fish fry's we had.

Ingredients

  • MIX:
  • 2 parts wheat flour
  • 1 part pumpernickle rye flour
  • 1 part corn meal
  • sucker fish fillets

How To Make pan fried suckers

  • Step 1
    Combine mix ingredients. Mix well. Shake sucker fillets in flour mixture using a paper bag. Lay fillets on a rack for about 1/2 an hour. Flour will absorb moisture.
  • Step 2
    Heat oil or fat. Shake fish in flour again before dropping into the pan.
