louisiana shrimp bake

This recipe goes WAY back in my family! Everyone loves this & I am sure you will too. Delicious, that is all I can say!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1-med. - onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 pound canned "crushed" tomatoes
  • 7 - oz. packages frozen shrimp
  • 1/4 cup cooking sherry
  • 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 - hard boiled eggs, sliced
  • 3 cups cooked rice

How To Make louisiana shrimp bake

  • Step 1
    Saute celery, onion & green pepper in butter. Blend in flour & salt. Cook until bubbly.
  • Step 2
    Stir in tomatoes,shrimp & sherry. Bring to boil; simmer covered for 10 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Stir in "1/2 cup" cheese & eggs. Pour into a 2 quart casserole dish.
  • Step 4
    Top with rice, sprinkle with remaining cheese.
  • Step 5
    Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
